Artist Bio
In 2013, Payton Taylor was recognized by NBC affiliate, WSM-TV Nashville, as one of the top 3 up-and-coming female acts in country music, and was featured as an emerging artist at the CMA Music Festival in both 2013 & 2014. She has performed around the country, released two CD projects, and has opened for major artists, such as Colt Ford, Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels, and Pam Tillis. Despite these milestones, the Southern New Jersey native still remembers singing since she was barely able to speak. But, it wasn’t until the summer of 2009 that the then 12-year-old Payton discovered her true passion for singing – Country Music.
During a trip to Nashville, Tennessee in August 2009, Payton was invited to jump on stage at a local music venue and perform a couple of songs. “That’s when I knew I wanted to sing Country Music for the rest of my life,” says Payton, “During that trip, I fell in love with Nashville – its history, its culture, and its music.” Fast-forward five years, and Payton is now making her mark in the industry with her energetic stage performances, her dynamic voice, and her melodic and lyrical songwriting.
Payton recently released her second CD in June 2014. The project, which features six songs written or co-written by Payton, was produced by award-winning producer Lynn Nichols, who has worked with artists such as The Band Perry, Amy Grant, and Switchfoot. In September, 2013, Payton released the first single from the project, a song called “Small Town Paradise”, to country radio and all major digital and online retail outlets. The success of the single helped further establish Payton as a formidable player in this new generation of up-and-coming country music artists.
