Artist Bio
Gene Odom, childhood and best friend of Ronnie Van Zant of the classic southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, and who served as his bodyguard and Director of Security, who grew up with others in the band, and who survived the horrific plane crash that claimed the lives of Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Dean, and the two pilots, has years of memories of childhood, teen years, touring with the band, and personal memories of private time with the band members. Gene tells a story that is honest, usually funny, and memorable. For the first time, Gene is willing to open up and share, with you, the audience, interactively in real time, his memories, while you can watch him tell them. He will answer questions and tell you of his most favorite recollections.
Gene is hoping that this way to communicate with you, who are such loyal fans of the Jacksonville kid and his fishing buddy Ronnie Van Zant, will open the door in order for him to do this on a regular basis, so that he can raise funds to complete "the" documentary, along with his poems and songs. You won't want to miss this! Please plan to attend-however, this is the first one, so bear with us as we learn this new way of communicating with you-webcam, microphone, and all. We hope to hear from you and see you there!!!
