Carlyn XP, a singer, song writer and performer is one of Dominica’s most popular female artists and has dominated the stage as a premier performer in the Bouyon genre by being the reining Bouyon Monarch 2017 and having won the same title in 2016. She is also the reigning Groovy Soca and 1st runner up Power Soca Monarch of Dominica. She has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with on the stage.
Carlyn XP is what you call a well rounded artist. Besides Bouyon and Soca, she is equally talented in other genres such as Reggae, Dancehall, Cadence, Zouk, Compa, R&B, Hip Hop and Rap just to name a few. She is the lead singer of the most versatile band in Dominica, Fanatik, and does a smaller live duo performance with her partner as C Square. In 2015 Carlyn Xavier-Phillip made the decision to pursue a full-time profession in the music business as being a Certified Registered Nurse was conflicting with her true calling. Being in the music business for over 10 years, she knows what it takes to entertain and does it to the highest standards.
Aside from her musical talent and being a Certified Registered Nurse, Carlyn is also an excellent domino player. She holds the title of “Queen of Domino”, a title obtained when she took part in the World Domino Championship in St. Lucia in 2010. Carlyn Xavier-Phillip is the wife of Cornell “Fingaz” Phillip, one of the creators of the Bouyon genre native to Dominica and together they have a beautiful daughter named Chiara.
