Bhaskar Das is one of the finest bansuri players of the younger generation of Indian musicians. Bansuri, the Indian bamboo flute, is one of the most ancient and sacred Indian instruments, mentioned in the Vedas, depicted in Buddhist art and revered in Hindu mythology.
Bhaskar’s journey in the world of music started at the age of three, his father being his first teacher. He performed for the first time at the age of eight and until now he has been giving concerts in India and abroad, receiving recognition as one of the most promising “maestros in the making”. He is an empanelled artist of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), rated as an "A" grade artist by All India Radio & Doordarshan (national TV & Radio channels), holder of a Master’s degree from Banaras Hindu University, recipient of the President's award by the Government of India and multiple awards in music competitions. He had the great privilege to perform in a diplomatic event hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the King Philippe of Belgium.
