: Tal Ben-Ari was born in Tel Aviv in 1983 and currently lives in Barcelona, Spain, working as a singer, composer and musician. Since her arrival there in 2006 she has been collaborating with musicians from all over the world as a lead singer in a variety of musical projects, constantly absorbing ideas and expanding her horizons to the new types of rhythms and melodies she encounters. One of these projects has been with the renowned Cuban a capella vocal quartet, Gema 4, with whom she has worked with artists such Peret, one of the leading figures in the rumba catalana, as well as with the singer Lucrecia. Ben-Ari has been performing across Spain at important world music festivals and concert venues, including her recent participation in the concert tour given by Los Moussakis (a group which makes active use of its Balkan roots), with whom she has been singing in Serbian, Macedonian, Ladino and, naturally, in Hebrew. . Tal has also been the lead singer for Asikides, a group playing Mediterranean repertoire, which also collaborated with the famous turkish artist Omar Faruk, last year and just finished recording their new CD Hesperia. Beyond her concert performing and her studies Tal Ben-Ari is currently working on recording her first album which will consist of fresh and personal compositions, sung in four different languages, and harnessing a variety of rhythms spanning modern musical trends and folklore and traditional music.
