Artist Bio
Run by the Magdalene graduates and residents, women who have survived prostitution, trafficking and addiction, the Thistle Stop Café sells Nashville-based and fair-trade coffees, teas and healthy catered foods. A venture of Thistle Farms, the social enterprise of Magdalene, the Café features food as good for the body as it is for the earth.
The Café anchors the corner of the Thistle Farms building that also houses the non-profit’s offices, bath and body care manufacturing facility, and paper-making and sewing studios.
The Thistle Stop Café is a gathering place for the Nashville community and guests to Thistle Farms. A stage gives the women a place to share their stories of healing and provides opportunities for artists to showcase their creative works. The Café is available as a venue for rent and serves as a storefront for our Thistle Farms product line.
Thistle Thursdays, the monthly live music series at the Thistle Stop Café, was launched in October 2013. In addition to a curated, eclectic line up of artists, you can eat in the Thistle Stop Café and purchase a drink from the full espresso and tea bar. The Café serves no alcohol and the shows are all ages. Half of the proceeds from the ticket price benefits the women of Magdalene.
