Artist Bio
They’re called One More Girl. Except, actually, they’re two.
Britt and Carly McKillip call Vancouver, BC home and have accumulated an impressive list of performance credits that belie their ages, opening for artists such as Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Terry Clark, Johnny Reid, Toby Keith and Lady Antebellum.
Over the past few years, Britt and Carly have been steadily winning over fans with cutting-edge performances and their signature knock-out vocals. Their debut CD “Big Sky”, released on EMI Music Canada in October 2009, enjoyed huge chart success both at radio and CMT. “Big Sky” generated a shelf full of awards for the duo – however – their most treasured accolade to date would have to be their September 2010 win for CCMA ‘Rising Star’.
Fast-forward to February of 2011 for the newest – and undeniably most impressive – twist in the One More Girl story, when Britt and Carly were invited by Universal Music to audition in Los Angeles for a group of A&R executives, including Jimmy Iovine. In August of 2011, One More Girl was announced as the most recent signing with Interscope Records. Since then they’ve been splitting time between LA and Nashville, co-writing with hitmakers like Billy Steinberg, Linda Perry, and Richard Marx, as well as a group of Nashville’s finest including Sarah Buxton, Carey Barlowe and Kyle Jacobs. In September 2012, Britt and Carly settled into The Music Factory in L.A. with Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow) in the production chair, to begin recording their debut album on Interscope.
While Britt and Carly have been involved with writing and recording, their love affair with Canadian radio continues….on the heels of the heady string of ‘Big Sky’ successes, the girls released ‘Maybe’ in early 2012 – a passionate love song that clearly speaks to a new level of maturity and confidence for the McKillip sisters, and gives their fans a taste of what to expect from One More Girl in the coming months……early 2013 will see the first single from their upcoming album.
To family, friends and fans who have been watching them steadily over the years, it has been more of a confirmation than a surprise, to see One More Girl emerging as a major musical force. Take two extraordinary voices....compelling harmonies and performances…..and a mysterious, musical and playful connection between two sisters that you can’t quite put your finger on.....and you have the One More Girl sound and culture.
