Since 2010 Nick Smith has been making a mark on music row with his ability to capture an audience with his unique voice, musicianship, and entertainment. Anyone who leaves a show knows they just saw a man possessed by country roots and energy. You leave "sweaty" as Nick likes to say. A country boy at heart, Nick grew up in the rural community of Enville, Tennessee, and dreamed of the day he would make the move to the sound streets of Nashville. Being originally part of a popular college band known as Southern Variety, Nick never thought country music would be in his future since his athletic ability led him to a schlorship to Division I powerhouse Troy University to play baseball. Once his baseball career ended due to a torn MCL, Nick and his buddies Bert Elliott and Jake Cofield, created a band in the summer of 2005 and played a variety of college towns in Alabama for almost 3 years until Nick decided to move to Nashville. "I grew up on Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, George Jones and Alabama to today's artists like Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, and Rascal Flatts. Country music was an essential part of my life growing up. Its who I am."
Driven by a strong desire to succeed, Faith in God, and a willingness to achieve success, Nick has seen the twists and turns of the music industry and life. "They say when you first move to Nashville, its a ten year town. Maybe it is, but I have definately got to do so much more than I could imagine in just a few years. Every goal I've set for my self so far I've achieved and I expect nothing less in going forward. Sports helps you with that mentality of just pushing forward." When Nick first got to Nashville, He began playing shows at the Legendary Tootsies Orchid Lounge where he immediately became a crowd favorite. Since that day he has been apart of Tootsies 50th anniversary party and also the Grand Ole Opry. He has written songs with Galen Griffin, Michael Huffman, Ash Bowers, Neal Coty and Joe Diffie whom all have penned several top country hits. He has also performed songwriter rounds with Sam Tate and Tom Sheppard. His latest debut album "Tailgate Summer" was produced with signature musician friends Lonnie Wilson, Gary Morse, James Mitchell, B. James Lowry, and Mike Brignardello. These musicians have played on many records from Michael Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley to Randy Houser, and more. Since making the move to Nashville, Nick has performed over 1500 shows from Indiana to Florida, and is currently working on a major record deal.
