Artist Bio
Larry Crider is passionate about worship. His love for God and gifting for music merge into a dynamic music ministry known as Larry Crider & 4 H.I.S. Glory. The talented ensemble and its leader made their o cial presentation to the Gospel music industry with their 2015 release, Time To Say Yes,
and followed up with their recent single, “Don’t Take Your Spirit”. Blending smooth harmonies, superior songwriting, riveting vocal performances and great musicianship, it’s no surprise that the group caught the attention of Gospel’s movers and shakers. Started in 2013, the ensemble has already received numerous award wins and nominations including three 2017 Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominations for New Artist of the Year, Best Performance by Group/Duo and Contemporary Artist of the Year. Crider, as a member of his high school choir, was honored to work with Gospel legends like Karen Clark Sheard, Tramaine Hawkins and Byron Cage. Although Crider is thrilled for the industry recognitions and the chance to sing with the nest in the genre, his goal is simply to reach the lost for Christ.
Blessed with a talent for music since his youth, Crider began his Gospel music journey as a vocalist in his church’s youth choir. After mastering singing, he learned to play instruments like the drums and the piano. It wasn’t until he attended Largo High School in Largo, Maryland, that his musical talents truly blossomed. His choir director, the renowned Jeremiah Murphy, embraced the teen’s a nity for music and nurtured Larry’s vocal gift. Crider joined the concert band, the marching band and directed choirs. Many began to hear about him in the Washington, DC area and he became the “go to guy” for music ministry opportunities. Ultimately, he found his place not just as a vocalist and instrumentalist, but also as a songwriter, composer and arranger. It was the training ground at Largo High School that gave him the experience to launch his own Gospel ensemble. He formed Larry Crider & 4 H.I.S. Glory, a group of sold-out, born again young men and women with a mission to “live out the call and impact lives for the better through song”. Hailing from a variety of di erent backgrounds and experiences, these thirteen believers are one when it comes to sharing the message of the Gospel through music. Gaining a following in the Nation’s Capital, the group recorded their rst project, Time To Say Yes. The track “Don’t Take Your Spirit”, featuring Enoch Henry and Bria Matthews, was a fan favorite, so much so that Larry decided to re- record the song and re-release it as a single. They’ve also released the lyric video for the song and two other lyric videos as well for “Thank You” featuring Shawn Bigby and “It’s All About You”.Larry’s songs have been garnering positive reviews and have helped to solidify Larry Crider & 4 H.I.S. Glory as one of the DMV’s up-and-coming ensembles. However, they haven’t just been catching the attention of those in their hometown; nationally, the buzz is building. In addition to the three Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominations, they’ve also received nominations for the Voices of Gospel Music Awards for New Artist of the Year, Gospel Choir of the Year and Contemporary Artist of the Year. Also, they’ve been nominated for three 2017 IGAA Radio Alliance Awards, Contemporary Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Contemporary CD of the Year. They took home the 8th Annual Blockbuster Music Showcase Gospel Award for Best Choir of the Year in 2017. Their notable performances have opened doors for them to share the stage with artists such as Shawn Bigby and Daniel Austin. Currently, Larry is the Choir Director and Musician at his home church, First National Deliverance Center located in Washington, DC. Previously, he served as Youth Choir Director at Largo Community Church in Mitchellville, MD, for 10 years. Larry Crider & 4 H.I.S. Glory, an ensemble delivering powerful music with soul-shaking lyrics, are putting the nishing touches on their upcoming CD.
