Funcoast Magazine called Koop "proof that folk music is alive and well." and Nashville songsmith Richard Helm has called him a "Groove Dawg." Koop was born and raised in Ohio but cut his teeth as a folksinger and songwriter on the streets of Austin, Texas and the songwriter enclaves of Nashville, Tennessee. Emerging as a natinoally touring artist, Koop has built a devoted audience from near constant gigging and mini-tours of energetic, intimate performances at wineries, little theaters, festivals, listening rooms, house concerts, pubs and coffee shops.
