Artist Bio
Fionn O Lochlainn is an Anglo-American musician and recording artist. Born and raised in Great Britain, being raised by his multi-instrumentalist Father Ruan, Fionn started playing guitar age 7, also learning piano from age 12, gaining primary experience from seeing Ruan write and record songs, play shows, whilst running his own residential recording studio in Northamptonshire. His Mother Jackie nurturing an impulse of music from infancy is still a profound source of inspiration...
Fionn relocated to USA in 2000 with a recording contract from Universal, and set to work on a series of songs that would eventually lead to a solo career and a critically acclaimed album entitled Spawn of the Beast. Sharing stages with some of the finest musicians in America, Fionn has performed at venues such as The Rockwood Music Hall, Rosewood Ballroom, The Knitting Factory, The Troubadour, The House of Blues, The Throckmorton, The Sweetwater Music Hall, SXSW, and CMJ Music Festivals
With a humanitarian edge and linguistic dexterity, Fionn’s writing and musicianship inspired an invitation from Howard Zinn to perform at a peace conference at Cooper Union, and to speak on a panel with Zinn about the power of protest music. Fionn has also lectured at NYU on similar subject matter, his unique background leading a lateral point of view as to the origins of social rebellion in 20th Century music
For the past five years, Fionn, greatly inspired by American culture, has been traveling and traversing the USA, focusing on California, and performing regularly at concert halls and festivals throughout the Southwest and the Great Northwest. Currently, Fionn is recording songs for his forthcoming album, 3 Stripe Balloon
