Artist Bio

At the age of eighteen, and hailing from Dallas, Texas, country singer / songwriter Ashliegh Lisset holds a captivating voice that quickly captures her audience. Her music is edgy and carries a confidence that is hard to overlook.

Since the age of twelve, Ashliegh has had aspirations of becoming a professional recording and performing artist. However, it was a tragic life experience that initiated her dream. At the age of eleven, she received the most devastating news a young girl could ever receive. Her father, an American Soldier, lost his life in combat while serving a second tour for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a Sergeant for the U.S. Army and died from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

It was dealing with this tragic loss that she found comfort in music. Quickly realizing that life was too short not to pursue her dream. When asked about her father, Ashliegh replies, "My dad was a passionate soldier and he died doing something he believed in. In a sense, that's how I feel about my music."

Ashliegh has yet to perform live with any well-known national artists, but has performed publicly for five years. She's performed at hundreds of venues and truly enjoys performing for the wounded soldiers and families of the fallen. Since the beginning of her professional career, she has always said that when the time comes to perform on stage with a national icon act, her dream gig would be to open for an icon like Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, and to perform at The Grand Ole Opry. Ashliegh continues to work hard at making her dream come true.

Ashliegh's signature style is truly her own and very unique. However, it is easy to hear which major artists influence her sound. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean. She aspires to be among the best. Her sound has been equated to Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and Adele.

With every passing day, Ashliegh moves closer to that dream which will soon be her reality.

Ashliegh Lisset recently released, "MISUNDERSTOOD", a six song EP on September 15, 2012 for digital download. Past releases include IT'S OKAY TO LIE, TARGET ON MY HEART, TOO MUCH INTAKE (SINGLE / DIGITAL RELEASE). A tour is in the process of being put together in order to support the new release.
