Absolon is a powerful Symphonic/Goth Power Metal band hailing from Orlando, Florida. Combining old school European metal with todays contempoary Symphonic/Goth Power Metal, they have carved out a unique niche in the metal genre. Absolon is a very different and refreshing sound in the world of heavy metal. They will appeal to fans of bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Queensryche, as well as, Kamelot, Pagan's Mind and Threshold.

Absolon's debut CD 'Darkness Rising:The Tale of Derek Blackheart' is nothing short of epic and has been taking the metal world by storm here and abroad. Based losely on the classic tale of The Portrait of Dorian Gray, it is a one hour, 16 track concept CD telling the story of Derek Blackheart, a young and ambitious young man, who sells his soul one dark stormy night to the Dark Master for fame and fortune. In return, all Derek has to do is bring his young angry audiences to the darkness thru his music. As promised, his band Blackheart becomes the biggest metal band in the world, selling tens of millions of records and playing to sold out arenas world wide. But, at the height of his success, Derek decides he has had enough and, looking to escape his lonliness, takes his own life at his Beverly Hills mansion. To late does he find that, even in death, there is no escaping his fate and the deal he made with the Dark Master.

In a recent review of Darkness Rising:The Tale of Derek Blackheart, the reviewer commented "Not since Queensryche Operation Mindcrime has their been such an epic album." Absolon will take the listener on a roller coaster of sound, images and emotions. This CD will satisfy the most hard core metal head.
