AMADEA is a stage name of a melomaniac-alchemist Olesia Shatmanbekova. Originally from Kyrgyzstan this Kyrgyz-Russian contralto with a distinctive timbre and a wide vocal range composes music that challenges both constantly evolving performers’ skills and demands of the sophisticated public. She firmly believes that just as light-reflecting facets give a diamond its mesmerizing shine, various musical components, added with style, give a music piece its majestically unique beauty.
Her songs are unpredictable fantasies of alternative rock. Every song is a stream of surprising blends of musical elements from different genres, cultures and times. Despite their seeming dissonance they are seamlessly woven together with thought-provoking lyrics, beautiful melody, peculiar arrangement, captivating story and powerful, sincere vocals.
AMADEA’s new project is her first EP called “L.A.W.”, meant as an inspiration, relief and encouragement for her listeners. A supportive message from a person who never surrenders thanks to the values praised in these songs. From the mysterious atmosphere of the cri du coeur “Audi me, Domine!” whose chorus was inspired by the characteristic intervallic pattern of Gregorian chant to the bewitching passages of the hypnotic rock-waltz with a sensuous touch of opera (the title track “L.A.W”) and the powerful, inspiring rock anthem “The Wheel of Time”, this EP will take you on an unforgettable musical journey through the AMADEA’s world.
